Restlessness in Peace

Looking down the pier is like looking through a pitch-black tunnel.  The possibilities of what lies at the end are enumerable.  And yet, we take for granted there will always be beauty, there will be more.  It is not the end.

What happens if it were the end?

"The sand is filled with soggy footsteps.  I follow them for a minute wondering who was there.  Why do they come here?  What do they see when they look out in the ocean?"

Do they not see the truth that lies beyond?  These footsteps lead a lost path of wandering.  So many lives are lost.  They wander like these footsteps.

My footsteps are deliberate as I make my way toward the streaks of color flung across the sky.  The color reminds me of light and darkness.  Those that wander are in darkness, and the truth is light.

"For you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth)." - Ephesians 5:8-9

What happened to "In God We Trust?"  Is it because the light sets in the west?

Why so many questions when I find serenity?  I yearn for a change.  For understanding.  To spread the truth.

Who do these footsteps belong to?  Were the generations before searching?

This pier is a road.  We are the travalers.  The sand....? Where do we fit in?  We want to reach the Son.

We have no answers.  We continue.

Wandering
Wandering
Wandering....
